Four More Public Universities Appoint New Vice-Chancellors

The Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education has disclosed the new vice-chancellors at four more public universities in Bangladesh.

Appointments of New Vice-Chancellors:

  • Rajshahi University (RU):
    The newly appointed vice-chancellor of Rajshahi University is Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib, from the Department of Physics. Having such a large academic background, along with his experience with physics, he is assumed to take the university towards a beaming future.
  • Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU):
    Md Abdul Latif, Professor, Department of Entomology, has been appointed Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University. Professor Latif is likely to bring much academic expertise in the agricultural sciences to the development and focus of agriculture education and research in this university.
  • Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET):
    Prof. Mohammad Mashud from the Department of Mechanical Engineering is going to join Khulna University of Engineering and Technology as the vice-chancellor. Being an engineering background, Prof. Mashud has shown a personal interest in making KUET known for technical education and innovation.
  • Noakhali Science and Technology University:
    Professor Muhammad Ismail, teacher, Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Dhaka University, has been appointed to the position of vice-chancellor at Noakhali Science and Technology University. With the new helmsman, the NSTU is likely to reach a new dimension in science and technology education.

Long Road Ahead
The two new appointments form part of the continuous efforts laid out by the Ministry of Education to begin solidifying management structures at public universities across Bangladesh. The newly appointed vice-chancellors bring in a variety of experiences and leadership skillsets, promising to steer academic excellence, research, and innovation in the respective institutions.
