Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, the former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, has greeted Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan for being appointed as the 30th VC of Dhaka University with a warm heart.

In a felicitation message, Dr. Kamal complimented Dr. Khan on his academic and administrative acumen and opined that under the leadership of Dr. Khan, the university would now surge ahead in education, research, and students' lives. Dr. Kamal termed Dr. Khan a committed academician and researcher and recognized his massive contributions to the field.

Dr. Maksud Kamal resigned on August 10 following the collapse of the Awami League government to a mass uprising. On August 13, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan vowed office as the new VC.

Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan has been appointed as the Pro Vice Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh. He brings with him a long experience of holding various academic and advisory positions. An accomplished academician, Dr. Khan has studied and conducted research at the University of Oxford, University of Wales Swansea, and Asian Institute of Technology, with numerous published works within the area of development studies.
